INNOVATIVE AMENITIES EMBODY MODERN SPIRIT

 Direct Import Services has been selected to design, build, install and deliver a new line of custom kitchen and bath cabinets and countertops for Pine View—the new student and family housing complex located at the center of the university’s campus.

“This project is special for many reasons—first off, we matched all cabinets and tops to the designers specs,” said Doug Delong, owner of DBLD, Inc., Direct Import Service’s exclusive installer for the job.

Columbia International University (CIU) is an evangelical Bible college, seminary and graduate school located in Columbia, South Carolina.

“To deliver the top-level consistency in quality, style, color and fit that is our standard, everything is being built, supplied and installed using one source throughout the process,” Delong said. “And all project stakeholders weighed in—with the developer, construction company and school approving samples we provided.”

Each bathroom at Pine View will offer custom-built, all-white bead board vanity cabinets and white cultured marble tops from Modular Vanity Tops, Inc. In the kitchens, Direct Import Services will provide the same quality cabinets, but finished in a specialty color—and complemented by high-definition laminate countertops from Web-Don, Inc.

“Second, our craftsmen will finish those cabinets in a warm, medium-dark honey glaze,” said Delong. “Combined with the deep rich look of this durable laminate, Pine View’s residents are sure to enjoy high-end modern aesthetics within the functionality of a new multi-family dwelling.”

To ensure timely delivery of all products and services, Direct Import Services will be working closely with the general contractor, Matthews Construction as well as the developer, Estates Management.

“Third, we’ll field measure and install each piece, coordinating every task with the construction company and its subcontractors,” Delong said. “Also, Direct Import Services will be handling all logistics—so the construction company can focus on their work, without involvement in any phase of completion other than scheduling.”

With product installation set to begin in May, Delong anticipates a summer completion. Pine View will begin accepting new residents for fall semester by September 7^th, 2010.

“Pine View will be a community that not only offers all the modern conveniences and safety of living on campus,” said a CIU spokesperson, “but also an atmosphere that encourages spiritual formation.”
